This came in on feed from the Cook Islands. Rarotonga, to be exact. What I love about it is how LE is saying the same thing everywhere, in pretty much the same tone: EXASPERATION. Hikers are not prepared, and they are exhausting SAR resources.

I also like the sidebar story about the "new toilets open for business".

Slightly different language everywhere, but the same message. Cook Islanders can be a lot more direct than NPS, though:
“Clearly the preventative advice and promotion of risks is not working,” Pitt said yesterday. “Some individuals will simply do what they want."
